A sample of my recent projects:

Engines of Empathy

Paul Mannering’s comic tale of quantum physics, a retired god and a mild(ish)-mannered computer psychologist was the first novel to be published by my publishing house Paper Road Press.

The Wind City

I provided big-picture editing and proofreading for this superb urban fantasy by Summer Wigmore, published by indie publisher Steam Press. The Wind City was nominated for a 2013 Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Youth Novel.

The Factory World

Joseph Edward Ryan’s sci fi riff on Alice in Wonderland (among other things) is Steam Press’ first middle-grade book. I provided proofreading and design feedback.

Watch Out, Snail! / Kia Mataara, e Ngata!

I project managed the English and te reo Māori editions of Gay Hay and Margaret Tolland’s second picture book, engaging a translator, editing and proofreading the text, creating a marketing plan and organising overseas printing.  Watch Out, Snail! was shortlisted in the 2014 New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards in the Picture Book category.

Urbanesia & Haruru Mai / Strange Resting Places

Urbanesia is a landmark collection of four Pasifika plays published by Playmarket in 2012. My work on this book included editing, typesetting, proofreading and design consultation. I greatly enjoyed working closely with Courtney Sina Meredith, poet and playwright, to bring her play Rushing Dolls into publication for the first time. I also provided editing, proofreading and design consultation for Haruru Mai / Strange Resting Places.
